On October 7, 2025, the Monash Chinese Association hosted the Monash City Seniors' Month Open Day, a multicultural event and Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. The day's activities were diverse and attracted over 300 participants, including many local community residents and seniors from Waverley Valley Care Community.
Just after 8:00 AM, members of various activity groups arrived at the association's premises, busily setting up the exhibition. The association was decorated inside and out, filled with festive cheer. In the spacious exhibition hall, exquisitely crafted woven and crocheted items were lifelike; numerous unique Chinese cultural collectibles shone brightly; beautifully arranged photographs showcased the hard work of several photography members; and numerous calligraphy and painting works displayed the achievements of members who enjoyed learning calligraphy and painting. Hundreds of exhibits transformed the exhibition hall into a colorful treasure trove.
In the lobby, information desks were set up by the co-organizers of the event, the Australian Multicultural Care Association (AMCSA), as well as Vital Care and the Melbourne Eastern Police Liaison Office.
At 9:30 AM, Monash Mayor Paul Klisaris and several guests, including Mr. Hong Shaoping, Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in Australia, arrived and visited the Tai Chi activity area, carefully viewing the displays of calligraphy, painting, photography, woven goods, and Chinese cultural artifacts. A lively gathering then began.
Michael, President of the Monash Chinese Association, delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming all the guests, co-organizers, and participants, and introducing the purpose and significance of the event. Mayor Paul Klisaris of Monash also gave a speech, remarking that the event felt like a large family.
Mr. Hong Shaoping, Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in Australia, wished the event a complete success. Following this, a variety of unique performances were presented. The Spring Voices Choir's mixed-voice rendition of "Holding Hands" and "Jinse" was deeply moving; the female chorus's "Wishing We Last Forever" and conductor Pau's Hakka dialect performance of "Moonlight" fully expressed the longing of those living away from home for their motherland during the Mid-Autumn Festival; the English group's song "You Are My Best Friend" sang of friendship and called for camaraderie; the male chorus's "Suli River" expressed love for their homeland, love, and peaceful life; the health exercise group's catwalk "Rose Is Gentle Too" and the Kucha dance "The Call of the Ancient Times" were highly distinctive; the folk dance group's "Spring Song" and the Australian court dance group's "Barclays Blues and New Vogue Waltz" were graceful and powerful; the Tai Chi group's "42-Form Tai Chi Sword" demonstrated profound inner strength and a balance of softness and power. The Spring Art Troupe's folk music ensemble "Shearing Sheep" and "Home" used traditional Chinese folk music to perform excellent Australian songs, offering a unique flavor. After the cultural performances, a Uyghur care professional was invited to introduce elderly care and disability assistance services; and a community police officer explained how to get help in emergency situations. Safety knowledge such as how to identify and avoid scams was provided. On-site explanations and individual consultations effectively helped participants better identify risks, improve their coping abilities, and live and work with peace of mind within the legal framework and a multicultural environment. The association also thoughtfully arranged a lucky draw, and the food team provided steaming hot soy milk and snacks. The entire event was lively and diverse. Participants appreciated various art treasures, enjoyed wonderful performances, savored delicious food, and gained new essential survival knowledge, spending a happy and joyful Mid-Autumn Festival.
Participants felt that this Mid-Autumn Festival was very meaningful and fulfilling. They also expressed their gratitude to the local government and the association for providing such a good platform.

又是中秋月圆时
---蒙纳士市老年月社团开放日暨中秋联欢会

2025年10月7日，蒙纳士华人协会举办了蒙纳士市老年月社团开放日多元文化暨中秋联欢活动。当天活动内容丰富多彩，吸引了300余人参加，其中包括许多当地社区居民和Waverley Valley Care Community养老院的老人。
早8 点刚过，多个活动小组的成员赶赴会所，紧张忙碌着布展准备。协会内外张灯结彩、喜气洋洋共联欢。若大的展览厅里，巧夺天工的编织钩织品栩栩如生；多件独具中华文化特色收藏珍品大放异采；装帖精美的摄影作品是多个摄影会员心血汇集； 一幅幅书画作品展示了爱好学习书画会员的成果。数百件展品将展览厅装扮成了一个多彩的聚宝厅。
门厅里分别由这次活动的协办单位澳大利亚多元文化关怀协会（AMCSA），以及维家护理 (vital care)和来自墨尔本东区警署联络处设置的咨询台。
9：30，Monash市长Paul Klisaris和澳洲越棉寮华人团体联合会主席洪绍平太平紳士等多位嘉宾相继莅临,参观了太极组的活动现场，并认真参观了书画、摄影、编织品以及中华文化艺术品的展示。然后一场内容丰富的联欢会开始。
蒙纳士华人协会会长Michael首先致词，热忱欢迎各位嘉宾，以及协办单位和参与单位，介绍了举办本次活动目的意义。Monash市长Paul Klisaris发表了致词，感叹这里就像是一个大家庭。
澳洲越棉寮华人团体联合会主席洪绍平太平紳士致词，祝愿活动圆满成功。随后各具特色的节目表演。春之声合唱团混声音合唱《牵手》、《锦瑟》歌曲，情真意切；女声小合唱《但愿人长久》和指挥Pau用客家方言演唱的《月光光》充分表达了在外儿女在中秋之时对祖国故乡的眷恋；英文组的英文歌曲《You are my best friend》唱出友谊呼唤友情；男小合《苏丽河》表达了对故土、爱情、和平生活的热爱；保健操组的走秀《玫瑰也温柔》和龟兹舞《远古的呼唤》极具特色；民族舞组的《春之歌》和澳洲宫庭舞组的《Barclays Blues and New Vogue Waltz》端壮优美；太极组《四十二式太极剑》内力深厚，刚柔相济。春天艺术团的民乐合奏《剪羊毛》、《家》用中国传统民乐演艺澳洲优秀歌曲，别具风味。在文艺表演后，特邀请维家护理专业人士介绍了养老和助残服务；以及社区警员讲解如何在紧急情况下获得帮助？如何识别并避免诈骗等安全知识。现场讲解和个案咨询，有效帮助大家更好识别风险、提升应对能力，更好在法律框架下与多元文化环境中安心生活与工作。协会还精心安排幸运大抽奖，美食组送上了热气腾腾的豆浆和小点心。整个活动热闹非凡，内容丰富多彩。大家观赏了多种艺术珍品，欣赏了精彩的节目，品味了可口的美食，又获得了新的必备生存知识，在开心欢乐中度过了中秋节。
参加活动人员感到这个中秋节过得很有意义、很充实。也非常感谢地方政府和协会为我们提供了一个好的平台。
