About CAM
The Monash Chinese Association was established in 2016. It is an influential Chinese community in the Monash area. It currently has about 370 members, including some local community residents from other cultural backgrounds. The association adheres to the concept of "integrating into Australian society and serving Chinese elders" to provide a loving and happy activity platform for the elders in the community.
The association currently has interest groups such as Spring Voices Choir
, English singing, Tai Chi, health exercises, folk dance, Australian court dance, photography, food, calligraphy, painting, weaving, gardening, wind music, three English classes, table tennis, health, chat, and elderly care service consultation.
Each of our activity groups has teachers to provide guidance, and the content of the activities is very popular. Usually, there are activities every Tuesday, and various activities are held every year, including multicultural friendship, Chinese and Western festival celebrations, photography, calligraphy, painting and weaving works exhibitions, Chinese food sharing, etc., as well as lectures on various contents. We also hold various activities with other communities.
We focus on integrating into the community’s multiculturalism. Every major event held by the association invites other societies to participate, such as: Chinese Community Council of Australia (VIC) (CCCAV), Chinese Professionals Club of Australia (CPCA), Spring Art Troupe, Happy Seniors Club, etc. There are also some societies with different cultural backgrounds, including Indonesian Cewang Dance, Monash Chorale, Waverley Scottish Society, etc. At the same time, we also go out. In September 2023, we participated in the "Australian Multicultural Charity Art and Dance Mid-Autumn Night" held by the National Council of Australian Federal Chinese Associations from Vietnam Cambodia and Laos, the "Old People's Festival Double Ninth Festival Gala" held by Dezhan Chinese Elderly Home on October 5, 2024, and the "Chinese Classic Works Concert of the 20s and 30s" held by the Melbourne Musicians Association and Lucia Music Studio on December 20, 2024.
Our association has been the organizer of the Monash Senior Month Community Open Day for three consecutive years in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and has been recognized by the Monash government. In October 2023, it was awarded the Sir John Monash Award (Active Aging Leadership Award) by the Monash City Government. All directors of the board of directors work together sincerely, unite, support each other, and complement each other. The association also has more than 50 volunteers to ensure the smooth progress of various activities. Among them, four volunteers, Lin Rongzong, Martika, Kuang Xiaoling and Zhang Fengqi, were successively awarded the Caroline Chisholm Award for Outstanding Volunteers in the Chisholm constituency of the Australian Federation in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Zhang Liming won the Best Volunteer Award of the Sir Monash John Monash Award in 2024.

蒙纳士华人协会成立于2016年，是Monash地区颇具影响力的华人社团，现有会员约370人，其中包括一些当地其他文化背景的社区居民。协会秉持“融入澳洲社会，服务华人长者”的理念，为社区的长者提供一个爱心、快乐的活动平台。
协会现有春之声合唱团（Spring Voices Choir
）、英文歌咏、太极、保健操、民族舞蹈、澳洲宫廷舞、摄影、美食、书法、绘画、编织、园艺、管乐、三个英文班、乒乓球、健康、聊天等兴趣小组，还有养老服务咨询。
我们每个活动小组都有老师进行辅导，活动内容深受大家的欢迎。平时每周二活动，每年还举办各种活动，包括多元文化联谊、中西方的节日庆典、摄影书画编织作品展览、中华美食分享等，以及各种内容的讲座。我们还与其他的社团举办各种内容的活动。
我们注重融入社区的多元文化，协会举办的每次大型活动，都邀请其他社团参加，比如：维州澳华社区委员会（CCCAV）、澳洲华人专业人士俱乐部（CPCA）、春天艺术团、快乐长者联谊会等。还有一些是不同文化背景的社团，包括印度尼西亚舞蹈团、蒙纳士合唱团、苏格兰舞蹈团等。同时我们也走出去，2023年9月份我们参加了澳洲越棉寮华人团体联合会举办的“澳洲多元文化慈善文艺歌舞中秋之夜”的演出，2024.10.5德瞻华人老年之家举办的“老年节庆重阳大型联欢会”的演出，2024.12.20墨尔本音乐家协会、Lucia音乐工作室举办的“中国20-30年代经典作品音乐会”的演出。
我们协会2022、2023、2024连续三年成为蒙纳士老年月社团开放日的主办单位，得到蒙纳士政府的认可。2023年10月被蒙纳士市政府评为John Monash爵士奖（积极老龄化领导力奖）。理事会全体理事精诚合作，团结一致，相互支持，相互补台。协会还拥有50多名义工，确保各项活动的顺利推进。其中林荣宗、Martika、邝晓玲、张凤岐四位义工先后被评为2022、2023、2024澳大利亚联邦Chisholm选区Caroline Chisholm Award优秀志愿者奖。张黎明获得了2024年 Monash John Monash爵士奖的最佳志愿者奖。
